The AACS girls varsity softball team defeated Mercy 11-0 in 5 innings on Thursday, April 12. Senior Jayla Pinkney hit a single, a triple, and recorded an RBI. Junior pitcher Lindsay Wilson pitched a two-hit shutout, including 9 strikeouts. Senior Julia Cox added a pair of hits and an RBI while fellow senior Maggie Bickhart also had an RBI.
While going 3-0 this week, the Eagles scored 51 total runs this week and not a single run was scored against them.
Head Coach Josh Danza said, "I am very proud of the ladies' accomplishments this week. Lindsay had been outstanding on the mound and at the plate allowing only 5 hits in 3 games and also hitting her first career grand slam. Freshmen Gracie Brewster, Katie Pilcher, and Hana Hoitt have contributed immediately and scored a combined 11 runs over the past 3 games."
The Eagles are now 4-1 and will return to play on Monday, April 16 at home against Notre Dame Prep.
